It's a new dawn for Scandy Chelangat who underwent a successful tumor removal surgery on her eye in India.
10 year old Scandy had been suffering from a cancerous eye tumor until Nairobi senator Mike Sonko got wind of her plight. Sonko took it upon himself to help raise funds to fly the girl to India last month.
The life saving surgery was carried out at the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer hospital and research Institute in Hyderabad-India. She was discharged last week and is expected in the country today.
