To the keen eye, it was obviously a scam, but unfortunately many unsuspecting Kenyans continue to get caught up in such.
Yesterday, the retail giant released this statement warning its customers not to be conned.
PUBLIC ALERT
Nakumatt Holdings, wishes to alert the general public that we are not running any sales promotion or related customer incentive programme purportedly on the Facebook Social media platform.
To this end, members’ of the public are advised to exercise caution when participating in the incentive programme hosted on website address http://giftfb.info/kenak/ and which promises exclusive gifts such as Vouchers, iPad’s and Gift Cards. The sponsors of the said web portal are also advised that NAKUMATT and the NAKUMATT LOGO are registered trademarks of Nakumatt Holdings. We reserve the right to pursue legal redress in this matter.
At Nakumatt, we have made an official complaint to Facebook alerting them of the efforts by unscrupulous individuals to run a hoax customer incentive campaign, at our expense.
Nakumatt Holdings or its subsidiaries will not accept any liability arising from participation in such a campaign.
